Shrewsbury, MA
- Coming off of a poor showing in the CIFL playoffs, the New England Surge contracted Topballerz.net to help evaluate new talent as they prepare for the 2009 season.

Players from as far as Dover, Delaware came to the Surge’s Open Free Agent Tryout. One of the most impressive attendees was receiver Yvens Louis. The former Western Connecticut State standout ran a 4.6 second 40-yard dash and shocked the crowd with a 10’ 6” standing broad jump. “He’s clearly an explosive guy,” said Topballerz.net President Aaron Hairston, “he should be on somebody’s roster this season.” Louis continued to catch the eye of Surge owner Roy Lucas Jr. during the ball drill session. Running flawless routes and not letting the ball hit the turf showed that Louis was clearly ready for the professional level.

Other standouts included AJ Sandella who finished with a tryout best 4.4-second 40-yard dash. Adamis Gonzalez ran a 4.5 second 40 and jumped 10’ 3” in the broad jump. The biggest surprise was 6’3” Bobby Skinner. At 266, the defensive end ran a 4.6 second 40-yard dash. “That guy can really move,” said Lucas Jr, “we could of used him last season.”
