MINOR LEAGUE PLAYERS SIGN PRO CONTRACTS
Two Minor League football players recently sign pro football contact by way of the Regional European Combines and World Sports Scouting (WSS). Both Desmond Jordan and Telly Cheeley have been signed by the Bielawa Owls (Owls Website) of Poland American Football League. (PLFA)
Desmond Jordan who participated in a regional combine in North Carolina played for Minor League’s Port City Chargers. The former Winston Salem State running back rushed for 2,860 yards in 2008. Wide receiver Telly Cheeley participated in the regional combine held in Georgia. Cheeley was a standout for the NAFL’s Georgia Raging Bulls.
“This shows you that Minor League players can make it to the next level” said WSS-New England representative Aaron Hairston, “With the talent in the NEFL, I know it’s just a matter of time before one of our athletes gets the same opportunity to play pro football”.
The next Regional European Combine will be held on February 27, 2010 at Blue Streak Sports Training, 80 Largo Drive, Stamford, Connecticut.
